Two very different animals decide it’s okay to give each other a chance and become friends. In spite of differences in how they are created, they learn it’s okay to love and help others regardless of how they look or are perceived. Text includes questions for the child to answer, and images for the child to count. Includes a section, “Lessons we can learn” and a Vocabulary defining words from the text. Thirty-four full color drawings on 70# white archival paper and with a gloss laminate cover that resists smudges and children’s fingerprints.
I like this story because it reminds us of our kindness to others. Just like the fireflies and them shining bright, when we’re in darkness we can shine brighter.

I like the bees and Suzzie’s pink hairbow.

The pictures are really cool, and my favorite part of this story is where Suzzie Squatch and Queen Bee become friends even though they are so different.
~ Easton (7 yrs. old)
I like the questions about friends and counting the animals. They’re cute!
