WALDENHOUSE PUBLISHERS – REFUND & RETURNS POLICY

Waldenhouse Publishers, LLC (“Waldenhouse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) produces books using print-on-demand (POD)technology. This means each book is printed specifically for you at the time of your order. For this reason, our return policy is different from traditional retail book returns.
We want you to love your purchase and are committed to making sure every book arrives in excellent condition.
1. Print-on-Demand (POD) Books Are Non-Returnable
All books purchased through WaldenhouseBooks.com are printed on demand and therefore non-returnable unless the item is damaged, defective, or misprinted.
We are unable to accept returns for:
- Change of mind
- Ordering the wrong book
- Duplicate orders
- Disliking the content after purchase
- Minor variations in color, trim, or finish that occur naturally in POD production
- Books damaged after delivery
This policy applies to retail customers and Waldenhouse authors.
2. Damaged, Defective, or Misprinted Books
If your book arrives:
- Damaged
- Misprinted
- Incorrect
- With production errors (ink issues, binding errors, missing pages, etc.)
we will replace the item at no cost to you.
To request a replacement, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- A clear photo of the defect or damage
- A photo of the packing slip if available
Once verified, we will issue a replacement at no charge.
Refunds are issued only if a replacement is not possible.
3. Returns for Author Wholesale Orders
Waldenhouse authors purchasing discounted/wholesale copies of their books are subject to the same POD manufacturing rules.
Wholesale author orders are non-returnable, including when:
- An author orders more books than needed
- An author changes their mind
- Books are no longer needed for an event
- An author orders the wrong quantity
- An author requests a different trim size or version after printing
❗ After an author signs the Author Proof Approval, all subsequent print orders are final.
By approving the proof, the author confirms that the book layout, text, cover, formatting, and overall appearance are correct.
Waldenhouse cannot resell or restock POD books, so returns are not accepted after proof approval.
4. Incorrect Address or Delivery Issues
Waldenhouse is not responsible for packages lost or delayed due to:
- Incorrect addresses provided at checkout
- Forwarding services
- Refused deliveries
- Carrier delays due to weather, labor shortages, or holidays
Reprints due to incorrect address must be paid for by the customer or author.
5. Cancellations
Because our books are printed on demand, orders cannot be canceled once they enter production.
Most orders begin printing within minutes or hours.
If you need to request a cancellation, contact us immediately and we will assist if printing has not yet begun.
6. Refunds
Refunds are issued only in the following circumstances:
- A book is defective
- The wrong item was shipped
- A replacement cannot be printed
- Waldenhouse cancels an order due to production problems
Refunds will be applied to the original payment method.
